‘SportsCenter’ anchor Randy Scott was in a scary car accident this Sunday.
The sportscaster revealed as much on social media, posting photos of his wrecked SUV while thanking Connecticut State Police for providing assistance after his collision.
Fortunately, he was not hurt and left the scene in great shape, which is more than can be said for his vehicle.
“Rained so hard, so quickly, I hydroplaned on I-84 and drilled the concrete median,” he wrote in a post on X. “Airbags and seatbelt saved the day. Really lucky to walk away without a scratch.”
“We love you, man. extremely happy you’re safe,” a user commented under the post. “someone was looking after you today 🙏 side note: we have our 100 hole charity golf tournament friday. Lmk if you need a ride or if you need me to call my contact at Kars4Kids to get you a temporary new whip.
“Oh I absolutely need help with a new car,” Scott replied. “This one has served me well, it’s earned a break.”
Can’t thank @CT_STATE_POLICE enough for helping me this morning.

Randy Scott’s ESPN Colleagues Also Expressed Their Relief
Several of Scott’s ESPN coworkers also commented, letting him know they’re happy he’s okay.
“Holy smokes!! They don’t make cars like they used to, and that’s a good thing,” ESPN reporter Michele Steele wrote. “Glad you are safe. Hope the rest of the day is extremely boring.”
“Thank goodness,” Matthew Berry, a former ESPN fantasy football analyst, wrote. “How scary that must have been.”
“Thankful you are okay brother,” Robert Griffin III offered.
Before his stint with The Worldwide Leader in Sports, Scott worked as a sports anchor for WNUR sports radio, having kicked off his career with KSWO-TV in Oklahoma. He also had a short spell as a standup comedian.
Scott has been with ESPN since 2012.
