Hailey Bieber Opens Up About How Justin Bieber’s Lymes Diagnosis Has Affected Her Outlook On Health
During an interview for Women’s Health UK’s podcast Going for Goal on Tuesday, Feb. 2, Bieber explained that her husband’s health situation had made her more attuned to any problems that she herself might be facing.
‘I think with the Lyme disease and that situation, it definitely makes you more aware of your health, and I think it makes you pay more attention to how you feel and different symptoms’
The 24-year-old model went on to add that ‘Lyme disease is an interesting thing because a lot of people don’t believe it’s real, and a lot of people think it’s BS. But I’ve had it before, I’ve dealt with it. My husband has it and deals with it very deeply. I think it’s about finding the right doctors who believe in getting to the bottom of any health issues that you might have.’

The singer added that people had suggested that he looked like he was ‘on meth’, but that ‘they failed to realise I’ve been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, not only that but had a serious case of chronic mono which affected my skin, brain function, energy, and overall health’.
In response to his criticism for speaking out about his experience, Bieber added: ‘I see a lot of people on here just creating lies and saying that they hope I lose in everything I do.
‘Well I hope you all win. I hope everything you want in life happens for you. Regardless of how you feel about me I send back love.’
Bieber’s wife Hailey later defended her husband against the criticism, chastising those who try to ‘downplay the severity’ of the disease.
‘Please do your research,’ she urged her followers on Twitter.
‘Making fun of and belittling a disease you don’t understand is never the way, all it takes is educating yourself,’ her message concluded.
The model continued, thanking other celebrities who suffer from Lyme disease including Yolanda Hadid, Bella Hadid and Avril Lavigne.
‘I wanna say a huge thank you to @YolandaHadid and @bellahadid and @GiGiHadid for bringing me so much clarity and information on Lyme disease and for helping answer my questions about course of action, symptoms etc,’ she tweeted. ‘Love you 3 amazing women!’
In 2017, Bella opened up about her health issues and revealed that she was feeling stronger than in previous years.

‘Emotionally, physically, mentally, in my health I feel so much stronger in so many ways and I am so grateful to all who have supported me, believed in me and stood by me.’
Her comments came months after she opened up to The Telegraph about the difficulty in coming to terms with her tick-borne disease.
Hailey also went onto thank Lavigne, describing her as ‘amazing’.
Lavinge thanked the 22-year-old for her ‘kind words’ and shared her best wishes following the singer’s recent diagnosis.
‘So sorry to hear about @justinbieber having to go through this awful disease,’ she wrote on Twitter. ‘The fact that it’s hard to diagnose and is so debilitating was something I suffered through also.’
Hailey and Justin married in September in South Carolina a year after their official wedding in 2018.
