Justin Bieber Takes Aim at Eminem for Attacking Young Rappers
Justin Bieber Responds To Racist Joke Video: ‘I’m Very Sorry’
Justin Bieber has decided to call out Eminem for his grim outlook on the future of hip hop.
On Wednesday morning, Bieber hopped on his Instagram Story to share a screengrab of his phone playing “The Ring,” the opening track of the 46-year-old rapper’s surprise 2018 album Kamikaze, which takes aim at Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Pump and more.
Then Bieber shared his in-the-moment response to the fiery track, writing, “I just like Em’s flow but don’t like that he’s dissing new rappers. I like the new generation of rap he just doesn’t understand it.”
There’s no denying that Eminem seems mystified by the current state of hip-hop, complaining about “mumblin'” and “mumbo-jumbo” rap on the song.
But it’s also important to note that picking fights is part of the veteran performer’s schtick — and that extends well beyond the realm of hip hop. Over the course of his career, he’s taken aim at everyone from Moby to Will Smith to Mariah Carey.
Bieber’s response to the track comes just one day after he shared photos of himself and Ed Sheeran striking the same happy pose in front of a green screen. Naturally, this ignited speculation that a collaboration is in the works. The 25-year-old singer kept fans guessing by captioning the images with simply, “10.”

Although Bieber seemingly announced a hiatus from music in March to focus on his marriage and emotional well-being, he teased that his fourth album is “coming soon” when he surprised fans on stage during Ariana Grande’s set at Coachella. So it’s anyone’s guess as to how soon this possible collab could see the light of day.
