Taylor Swift‘s highly popular Eras Tour has seen its fair share of mishaps over the past several months (so much so, that Swifties have lovingly nicknamed the international event series the “Errors Tour”), but that hasn’t stopped fans from appreciating every single moment along the way—missteps, wardrobe malfunctions, accidental blunders and all.
The latest instance of this had supporters joking that she was “a bit out of it” after she forgot to put her microphone back up to her mouth during her performance of her 2012 hit, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”
Footage from the July 18 show date in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, found the “Lavender Haze” singer finishing a stanza of the tune, before saying “Like, ever”—but the phrase could only be lip-read and not heard, as she forgot to sing into the mic.
Ever the professional, though, the pop superstar recovered flawlessly, quickly realizing the mistake and restating what she had previously said into the microphone so that her screaming audience could hear.
In the comment thread of the post on X, fans poured in with support.
A third defended her performance practices, jumping to her side by sarcastically shutting down naysayers with, “But she lip syncs the whole show,” alongside a rolling-eyes emoji.
“And people accuse her of lip syncing for 3 hours,” someone else agreed.
Meanwhile, an additional commenter simply gushed, “This is too cute.”
Swift’s Eras Tour continues early next week, as she heads to Hamburg, Germany, for two show dates on Tuesday, July 23, and Wednesday, July 24, before taking her talents to Munich next weekend.
