Kris Jenner has left fans fuming after she praised her granddaughter North West after she was cast in The Lion King on her birthday post.

The momager took to Instagram to celebrate North’s 11th birthday and put out a gushing post. However, fans were not too impressed with the content of it.

The reality TV queen said during the outpouring of love for her granddaughter: “I’m so proud of your Lion King performance at the Hollywood Bowl.” She set fans off with that comment, and several insisted it was a shameless plug.

One fan wrote beneath the comment’s section: “She just had to mention the Lion King performance.”

Another said: “Well, Kris just reminded us how horrible the Lion King’s performance was.”

It comes after Kim Kardashian was slammed by fans after a video claimed she “pulled strings” to get North cast in The Lion King.

Kim came under fire after a TikTok user claimed that her own daughter had been overlooked despite being perfect for the part and said that Kim had “paid” to get North the role.

The scathing clip was shared on social media and prompted a sea of comments criticising Kim. One user wrote: “This family has never been told ‘no’ and it’s sad.” A second scathed on Reddit: “Pimp mama Kim. How gross and entitled the KarJenners are…its disgusting..”

Meanwhile, North received a standing ovation after her stage debut in a production of The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl last May.

The special performance was a live-to-film concert and North took every opportunity to show that she has what it takes to hold her own on stage, with the concert also featuring Jennifer Hudson, Jeremy Irons, Billy Eichner and Nathan Lane. Proud dad Kanye was dressed in a white hoodie for the event while Kris opted for an ankle-length, animal print coat, as they supported North on her big night.

Reality star Kim shared snaps from backstage as she posted a photo of her and North’s all-access passes as well as pics of character-inspired cupcakes. Kim also paid thanks to her mum Kris and grandmother Mary Jo Campbell, for sending a beautiful orange flower arrangement.

North played Simba in the 30th anniversary concert celebrating the Disney classic, with her proud parents, grandmother Kris Jenner and aunt Kourtney Kardashian with husband Travis Barker watching the show.
