Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes have implemented measures to save their friendship amid mounting speculation that the Kansas City Chiefs WAG’s apparent support of Donald Trump could cause an explosive rift with the singer.

Fans predicted a huge fallout could be on the cards after Brittany, 28, sparked controversy for liking multiple posts in support of the Republican presidential candidate, 78, ahead of the upcoming election, seemingly going against the views of her new best friend, Taylor, 34.

However, a source has exclusively told DailyMail.com that they ‘respect that they have different views’ and have made a ‘pact’ to avoid discussing politics.

‘Taylor is not going to be written into this anti-Brittany narrative because they have made a pact to not discuss politics,’ they said.

‘They both know it can tear apart friendships and they respect that they have different views.’

A source has exclusively told DailyMail.com that they 'respect that they have different views' and have made a 'pact' to avoid discussing politics

The source claimed ‘Brittany knew better than to discuss politics’ at a recent party Taylor threw for Blake Lively at her Rhode Island mansion as she didn’t want to ‘risk confrontation over opposing views.’

‘It was an unspoken rule for everyone to avoid politics at Taylor’s home in Rhode Island,’ they said. ‘The topic was off limits.

‘It is not only Taylor who has not spoken out in strong support for either candidate, but Travis as well. They know how much influence they have.’

According to the insider, Taylor’s Eras Tour opened her eyes to the fact that she has millions of fans who don’t all share the same views, and she has learned to respect that.

‘She loves her fans and has sold out stadiums in Republican states as well as Democrat, and has performed in countries where communism is rampant,’ they continued.

‘They are brought together by their love of her music. If, and when, Taylor is ready to endorse a candidate she will. Right now is not the time for her to do so.’

Another source added: ‘Taylor deals with so many people in her career and life that are so different that she leads with love, if you are a good person, most likely you’ll get her respect.

‘Her and Brittany talk about other things and never politics, so Taylor isn’t going to let this be a deal breaker for a friendship.’

Brittany, 28, has not publicly said she supports Trump, 78, or that she will vote Republican, but she has liked a string of posts in favor of Trump which has sparked controversy

Chiefs Queen Brittany sparked furor among Dem' voters by liking a post on Trump's policies

She later hit back at her critics, saying there's no reason their brains are 'fully developed'

Last week, Brittany, who has been married to Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes since 2022, sparked a liberal meltdown by liking a Trump post mapping out 16 of his policies to his 26.3million followers; ranging from topics on immigration to the economy.

The like generated outrage among liberals on social media, and Brittany appeared to hit out at her critics in a fiery response.

‘I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood,’ she wrote.

‘There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.’

While promoting Chiefs merchandise for the new NFL season, she sparked more controversy when she liked a reply from a follower which read: ‘TRUMP-VANCE 2024.’

While Brittany has not publicly endorsed Trump or confirmed if she will vote for him, Taylor’s fans have been worried that her apparent views could result in an awkward reunion at future Kansas City Chiefs games.

This is because Taylor previously expressed disdain for Trump and voted for his ex-rival Joe Biden ahead of the 2020 election.

Voicing their speculation on X, one said: ‘Well it looks like Brittany can forget posting up with Taylor Swift in the skyboxes from now on. Could seriously strain their tik tok relationship’.

Another posted: ‘This season is gonna be awkward in the stadium suites with Brittany and Taylor Swift.’

Taylor and Travis Kelce, both 34,have been dating since the summer of 2023

Taylor ripped into Trump in May 2020, vowing to ‘vote him out’ of the White House.

Trump has also snapped back at her on frequent occasions while even weighing in on her high-profile romance with Travis Kelce.

‘I wish the best for both of them. I hope they enjoy their life, maybe together, maybe not — most likely not,’ he said during an interview with the Daily Caller.

Earlier this month, Taylor hinted that she will remain silent on subjects she believes might ‘provoke’ after her three shows in Vienna were abruptly cancelled due to a foiled terror attack.

‘Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows,’ she wrote on Instagram.

‘In cases like this one, ”silence” is actually showing restraint, and waiting to express yourself at a time when it’s right to. My priority was finishing our European tour safely, and it is with great relief that I can say we did that.’

Earlier this week, Brittany revealed how husband Patrick has taught her to ignore social media trolls amid controversy over her apparent support of Trump.

In an interview on the WHOOP podcast, she credited Patrick with helping her block out any criticism she receives online.

‘He is very good at blocking people out so having him beside has helped,’ she said. ‘The main thing he always told me is to stop caring what people think – especially the people that don’t even know you.

‘I think social media used to get to me a lot. Now, it’s just like, honestly, I don’t give a f**k what people have to say about me anymore. And I think he has helped me get to that point.
