Taylor Swift Eras Tour: Singer Gifts ’22’ Hat to Girl She Met as a Baby

In this series, Newsweek is recapping every show Taylor Swift has performed on the Eras Tour, city by city.

Taylor Swift had a full circle moment as she gifted her 22 hat to a girl she had ‘known’ since she was a baby.

The singer usually gives her black fedora to a special fan as she is singing 22 during her Eras Tour concerts, in what has become a much-loved tradition. The lucky recipient picked for the honor at Swift’s show in Indianapolis on November 2 was Eloise, 7, who Swift first spotted on social media as a baby.

Eloise’s mum is a Swift fan and, according to reports, Swift commented on an Instagram livestream she did seven years ago when Eloise was just a few months old.

Swift apparently vowed she would meet Eloise one day. Seven years later, the little girl ended up being the fan who gets to wait at the end of the runway for Swift to hand over her hat.

Clips from the concert posted online show Eloise excitedly standing by the stage in a sparkly jacket as Swift approached and told her: “Last time I saw you, you were a baby.”

Ahead of the show, Eloise’s mom Cindy posted pictures of her Swiftie daughter on X as she said: “It’s been a long time coming… seven years ago, @taylorswift13 came on my Insta live and saw Eloise. This weekend, Eloise gets to see her for the first time! What a dream for my girl, born & raised a swiftie.”

After the concert she shared a clip of the touching moment they met, telling her followers on the platform: “‘Hi Eloise’ she really did peak at seven… We are floating on cloud 13 right now, not sure we will ever come down. THANK YOU to every single one of you who rooted for and cheered on Eloise. My OG swiftie heart is so full!”
