Angel Reese has made a significant impact in the WNBA during her rookie season, but basketball isn’t her only passion.

She recently shared which NFL team she supports, though this revelation might not sit well with Simone Biles, with whom she has a known conflict.

Reese, currently taking a break from her busy basketball career due to the 2024 Olympic Games, hails from Maryland, making it easy to guess that she’s a fan of the Baltimore Ravens.

When asked by a fan on X.com (formerly Twitter) about her favorite NFL team, the 22-year-old Reese confirmed her allegiance with a simple reply: “@ravens, DUH.” This leaves no doubt that the former LSU Tiger roots for the Ravens.

This means that Reese likely felt the sting of disappointment when Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs defeated Lamar Jackson’s Ravens in the AFC Championship game earlier this year.

It also indicates that she chose the Ravens over the Washington Commanders, despite both teams being based in Maryland. However, with Reese born in Randallstown, just 16.1 miles from Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium, it’s clear why she prefers the Ravens.

The situation becomes more interesting when considering Reese’s past tensions with Simone Biles.

The conflict between the two athletes began when Biles, a prominent Washington Commanders fan, publicly criticized Reese’s sportsmanship during a college basketball game, leading to a social media spat between the two.

The disagreement was widely discussed, adding to the tension when Reese’s NFL allegiance was revealed.

Simone Biles, a gymnast and avid Commanders supporter, might not have anticipated being further connected to this story until Ravens player Marlon Humphrey criticized Biles and Jordan Chiles for kneeling in support of Rebeca Andrade after the Brazilian gymnast won gold in the floor exercise at the 2024 Olympic Games.

Humphrey, who faced backlash for calling the gesture “literally disgusting,” invited Reese to appear on his podcast after she declared her loyalty to the Ravens on August 7.

“Podcast?” the Punch Line Podcast tweeted, seemingly inviting Reese to join their show, possibly adding another chapter to her ongoing feud with Biles.
