When it comes to tennis, the legacy of the great Williams sisters is impossible to overlook.
Venus and Serena Williams both have displayed extraordinary commitment and determination, crafting careers that continue to inspire modern athletes.
Their childhood coach, Rick Macci, has often spoken about the unwavering dedication the two showcased from the beginning.
In a recent social media update, Macci again highlighted Venus Williams’ remarkable focus and discipline long before her sister Serena joined her in dominating the sport.
Apart from Richard Williams, Macci trained Serena and Venus from an early age and helped them become two dominant athletes in their sport.

“Asked how many times been approached to do what I did financially and personally for the Williams family and Roll the Dice on such a Long Shot. To many to count but it was not a Long Shot but a Sure Shot as there only ONE or should I say TWO @serenawilliams @Venuseswilliams,” he tweeted on X highlighting his admiration for his pupils.
Now, Macci dropped another tweet in favor of Venus Williams’ incredible commitment to hard work which even left him surprised.
“4 years age 10 to14 without playing a tournament just practice matches. Gets wildcard into WTA event. Beats number 52 and almost beats number 1 in the world. Venus shocked the world and in rear view mirror a little sister that might be better. @Venuseswilliams @serenawilliams,” Macci tweeted. His statement highlighted how the elder sister of Serena Williams committed herself to practice.

Interestingly, Macci’s intense dedication to the Williams sisters started from his love for their family. When the famous coach saw Venus practicing for the first time, he told Richard Williams that Venus was the “next female Micheal Jordan.”
However, the Williams sisters’ father promised Macci that he had two Micheal Jordans in his family referring to his youngest one, Serena Williams.
Later, Macci also revealed that Serena Williams had the thing to become successful because she was always competitive. Macci delved deeper into it with an Essentiallysports correspondent and surprised the audience with stunning relations.

“It was her competitiveness. It didn’t matter, if there was like a piece of chicken on the table she pushed Venus out of the way to get it. She had to be the first to take a drink. She was always like had to be first, she was so competitive,” he said.
