Serena Williams has many outstanding moments from her tennis career but she did manage to select her favourite.

The American produced one of the most illustrious sporting careers of all time that lasted almost three decades.

She showed a level of dominance that had not been seen in the women’s game and did so with unbelievable aggression and power.

Serena Williams revolutionised tennis and sport as a whole, and inspired a generation of players to follow in her footsteps after they witnessed her greatness.

What is Serena Williams’ greatest moment from her tennis career?

Williams has numerous moments to choose from her glittering tennis career.

The 43-year-old retired from tennis in September 2022 after winning 73 titles, the fifth most of any woman in the open era. One of those title wins came at the 2017 Australian Open, the final Grand Slam championship of Williams’ career.

The tennis world was stunned to later find out that Williams was several weeks pregnant with her first child Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr at the time she defeated sister Venus Williams to triumph at Melbourne Park.

“I think winning Australia pregnant. It wasn’t like I was pregnant, I was like nine weeks pregnant. I was almost done with the first trimester,” Williams told World number 11 Stefanos Tsitsipas on Instagram live.

The Greek player responded: “That must have been like two times more difficult that winning it under normal circumstances.”

Describing the physical toll pregnancy took on her body, Williams added: “I couldn’t breathe! Everyone was like I won without losing a set. It was crazy. I couldn’t breathe because when you are pregnant it takes your energy.

“So after long points I would be [gasping]. So I would either lose the next point or fake it. I was like if I go three sets I am not winning, so I didn’t!”

Who did Serena Williams beat to win the 2017 Australian Open?

Williams began her last Grand Slam winning campaign by beating Belidna Bencic 6-4, 6-4.

She once again conceded just seven games when she defeated Lucie Šafářová in the next round, before defeating campatriot Nicole Gibbs 6-1, 6-3.

Williams beat Barbora Strýcová 7-5, 6-4 in the fourth round to advance to another major quarter-final, where she met Britain’s Johanna Konta.

Williams swept aside the former World number four 6-2, 6-3 before beating Mirjana Lučić-Baroni, who reached her first Grand Slam singles semi-final since 1999, fir the loss of just three games.

In the final, Serena faced a familiar opponent in her sister Venus Williams, and Serena claimed a 6-4, 6-4 victory to seal her 23rd and final major title.
