Richard Williams Files $1 Million Lawsuit Against Ex-Wife Lakisha Amidst Allegations of Fraud and Property Dispute.

The complex and ongoing legal dispute between Richard Williams, the father of tennis stars Serena and Venus Williams, and his ex-wife, Lakisha Williams, continues to captivate public attention.

The saga began years ago but recently intensified after Richard filed a $1 million lawsuit, accusing Lakisha of fraudulent actions that he claims have financially harmed him and undermined his ownership of their former marital home.

Richard, now in his 80s and known worldwide as the coach and father behind Serena and Venus Williams’s tennis success, alleges that Lakisha used his name and faked his signature to remortgage their shared Palm Beach Gardens property.

This Florida home, a four-bedroom, five-bathroom residence spread over 4,160 square feet, is a significant asset, and Richard contends that Lakisha’s handling of it has led to a severe financial loss. According to his legal filings, Lakisha sold the house for just $10, a sum he considers symbolic of her disregard for the home’s true value.

The sale of the property is just one aspect of the tangled financial conflict. Richard claims that Lakisha’s mismanagement of the house and mortgage led to a $517,000 debt owed to hard lender David Simon.

In response to the accruing debt and interest, Simon demanded full repayment, which prompted Lakisha to file for Chapter 13 bankruptcy.

This legal move temporarily postponed an auction of the home that was set for February 18, allowing Lakisha more time to address her mounting financial challenges.

Despite Richard and Lakisha’s long and contentious separation, recent court filings reveal surprising details about their personal relationship.

Lakisha’s attorney disclosed that she claims to have rekindled an intimate relationship with Richard, even describing a “sizzling” romantic connection despite Richard’s advancing age, his history of strokes, and symptoms of early-onset dementia.

Lakisha argues that the couple has reconciled on a personal level, citing regular intimate encounters, including one as recent as January 9, 2022—the day before filing a new legal motion.

According to Lakisha, these developments indicate her continued commitment to Richard and a shared life together.

Meanwhile, Richard’s legal team is pressing forward with the lawsuit, seeking compensation for what they allege are Lakisha’s wrongful actions.

Attorney Thomas Krusek has argued that Lakisha’s missteps and financial maneuvers have unfairly encumbered the property, diminishing its net value and ultimately causing significant economic harm to Richard.

Krusek’s filings in court state that Richard should not have to shoulder the costs associated with “undoing the results of the defendant’s wrongful conduct.”

The lawsuit further requests that Lakisha cover all associated attorney fees, which could increase the total amount owed to well over $1 million if the court rules in Richard’s favor.

Adding yet another layer to the story, Richard now lives with his daughter Serena in a one-story property she purchased in 2015.

Though Serena has supported her father’s health and housing needs, Richard remains determined to settle his financial score with Lakisha, claiming that her actions have forced him into a prolonged and costly legal fight.

As the public watches this drama unfold, the case raises questions about the legacy of Richard Williams, the once-dedicated coach and patriarch whose personal and financial life has become a legal battleground.
