Paris Hilton fans were floored as they finally heard the heiress’ “real voice” during a congressional meeting last week as she rallied for lawmakers to pass a bill protecting teens. As Paris took the stand last week to speak at a congressional hearing regarding the need for reforms in the foster and youth rehab system, fans were taken aback as they heard her voice dramatically shift mid-sentence.
As she spoke on the congressional panel, the mother of two’s voice switched from her well-known girly “Valley girl” tone as she complimented U.S. Representative Claudia Tenney’s outfit to deeper, more serious voice as she tackled the heavy topic.
During her appearance in court, the 43-year-old heiress spoke out about the tragic alleged child abuse she endured while living at a youth rehabilitation facility before a US congressional committee.
And as Paris put on a poised and well-spoken display as she testified, many fans applauded her for being able to expertly code-switch depending on the circumstance.

Paris’ voice switch-up has been a topic of discussion for the past decade with many supporters praising her for profiting off her ditzy-girl persona for so long.
In a Reddit thread, one person wrote: “I remember an interview with her back about 10 years ago or so, when she was dropping the whole vapid famous-for-being-famous schtick. She had a book and was talking to one of those late-night talk show hosts, talking about how it was all a character and that she had made millions upon millions of dollars just by pretending.”
And another added: “Paris Hilton has started using her natural speaking voice on occasion – and it’s surprisingly pleasant compared to her ‘little girl’ fake voice.”
And a third wrote: “Hearing the difference in the Paris voice we all know, to her real voice in her documentary… baby girl was playing long game in a game that most people didn’t even realize she was capable of playing in.”

During her speech, the 43-year-old businesswoman shed light on her troubling experience at a private youth facility in Utah as a teen where she claimed she was “force-fed medications and sexually abused by staff.”
Paris has been outspoken advocate for children in youth facilities and the foster care system for many years and has detailed her own heartbreaking experience in interviews, her book, and her own documentary.
In her vulnerable speech, Paris described her treatment in the facility as “inhumane” and said that the traumatic period would haunt her for the rest of her life. The former reality TV star urged US lawmakers to pass a bill called the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act to give additional protection to teens to ensure no one will experience the emotional and sexual abuse that she did growing up.
