Things took a new turn in the controversy surrounding Papoose and Remy Ma after the former claimed the latter cheated on him multiple times, adding he had been asking for a divorce for a while now.
This came hours after Remy Ma posted a screenshot of an alleged text thread between her husband and professional boxer Claressa Shields, accusing them of having an affair.
Following this, Papoose took to Instagram Stories on December 12 to post his side of things. He accused Remy Ma of being a narcissist and playing the victim after the rapper chose to move on.
“Sad to say that @remyma is a narcissist. She chose to cheat repeatedly. Now that I finally moved on, she’s playing the victim. I have requested a divorce numerous times.
She rather clout chase on social media. Than handle him like civilized adults. I did not wanna do the social media foolishness.
For the sake of my 6 year old baby. She has to go to school. As you can see I remained quiet through this all,” he wrote.

The story came as a response to Remy Ma uploading the screenshot of the alleged text conversation between Papoose and Shields.
Remy claimed the rapper fell asleep in her house on the phone with the boxer. She also alleged that Shields hung up on her when she called her.
“Papoose dum a** fell asleep on the phone with @claressashields Laying in my house he refuses to leave .
This b***h supposed to be a world champion boxer and get scary a** hung up soon as she heard my voice Nowwww I’m telling everything ohhhh and babygirl u not the only one.” she wrote in the caption.

Remy Ma and Papoose married in 2016
The rappers tied the knot in February 2016 following Remy Ma’s release from prison. Remy was arrested in 2007 after reportedly shooting a woman in the torse during an altercation, in which she accused the victim of stealing from her.
Remy Ma was found guilty of assault. She was incarcerated in 2008 and released after serving six years. The pair also share a six-year-old daughter, Reminisce Mackenzie.
Remy Ma and Papoose’s relationship faced scrutiny over the past year, leading many to speculate the couple had gone their separate ways. The rumors emerged after Papoose and fellow rapper Eazy The Block Captain got into an altercation at the Chrome 23 battle rap in 2023.
According to Hot New Hip Hop, rumors claimed that Papoose knocked out Eazy after the latter allegedly got “too cozy” with his wife. However, Remy refuted the rumors, dubbing them “lies.”
“I’d like to apologize to everyone that was disappointed tonight because we couldn’t get 3 full rounds from all the opponents… I tried…and can y’all pleasee STOP with the Eazy & Pap LIES. There’s NO place like Chrome! Right back at it; see y’all in August #Chrome23,” she posted on X.
Further rumors of their breakup resurfaced after Remy Ma used her maiden name in one of her latest tracks. According to Hot97, fans noticed the singer went by her maiden name, Remy Kioni Smith, in the new Fat Joe track Outta Control, released in July 2024.
In her previous tracks, Remy reportedly went by Remy Mackie. Papoose’s real name is Shamele Mackie.
In other news, Claressa Shields responded to Remy Ma’s Instagram post of the alleged text thread. The professional boxer commented on the post, accusing Remy of having two boyfriends.

She also reiterated the same claim on her Instagram Story, writing, “How a woman with two boyfriends mad at a man that has a girlfriend.”
It is unclear what Remy Ma and Mackie’s relationship status is at the time of this article.
