Venus and Serena Williams are regarded as two of the greatest tennis players ever. Serena retired in 2022 after a 27-year career during which she won 73 titles, including 23 Grand Slam singles.
Her sister Venus, who turned 44 in June, is currently the oldest player on the WTA Tour and the only active player with seven Grand Slam singles titles.
On Friday, the official WTA account on Instagram paid tribute to the Williams sisters and other WTA legends in a post.
The tribute featured a collage of iconic moments, including Billie Jean King holding the Wimbledon trophy, Chris Evert in action, and Steffi Graf with her Olympic gold medal.

Hingis competed on the WTA Tour for 23 years, winning five Grand Slam singles titles, 13 doubles titles, and seven mixed doubles titles.
She holds the record for the youngest-ever WTA World No. 1, achieving the feat in 1997 at just 16 years and 182 days. Hingis was also the first Swiss tennis player to win a Grand Slam title and top the WTA rankings, which she held for a total of 209 weeks.

Serena Williams and Martina Hingis faced each other 13 times on the WTA Tour.
Their first meeting was at the 1998 Miami Open where Hingis defeated Serena in the quarterfinals. The Swiss star again outclassed Williams in the quarterfinals of the 1998 Acura Classic.
Williams secured her first win against Hingis in the semifinals of the 1999 Miami Open. Their sixth encounter came at the 1999 US Open final, where Serena equaled their head-to-head record at 3-3 and clinched her first Grand Slam title.
The two went on to face each other seven more times between 2000 and 2002. Their last meeting was in the quarterfinals of the 2002 Miami Open, where Williams won 6-4, 6-0. Serena holds a slight edge in their overall head-to-head record, leading 7-6.
Martina Hingis and Venus Williams also shared a fierce rivalry, playing a total of 21 matches against each other, with Hingis winning 11 of those encounters.
