Jordan Chiles models black bikini in social media return after Olympic medal controversy

Jordan Chiles is enjoying some R&R following a dramatic conclusion to the 2024 Olympics.

On Tuesday, the American gymnast, 23, shared a trio of new Instagram photos that featured her modeling a black bikini and sunglasses on a lounge chair.

“Golden paradise,” Chiles captioned the post, which received a slew of heart-eyed emojis and fire animations in the comments.

Chiles previously announced she would be stepping away from social media amid the controversy surrounding her bronze medal win in the floor exercise final on Aug. 5.

Romanian gymnasts Ana Barbosu and Sabrina Maneca-Voinea received scores of 13.700 in the event, with Barbosu earning a higher execution score of 8.000, thus putting her in the third place spot behind Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade and Simone Biles of Team USA, respectively.

Chiles, who earned a score of 13.666, was bumped to third with a score of 13.766 after a Team USA inquiry.

The final result prompted a messy fallout between Team USA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which ruled the review from American brass was submitted outside the one-minute deadline.

Chiles, who also took home gold in the team all-around final, was instructed by the International Olympic Committee to return her bronze medal.

As of Aug. 15, Chiles “still has possession” of the medal, USA Today Sports reported.

Chiles addressed the matter in a raw social media post this month, calling the ordeal “one of the most challenging moments of my career.”

“This decision feels unjust and comes as a significant blow, not just to me, but to everyone who has championed my journey,” Chiles penned on Aug. 15. “To add to the heartbreak, the unprompted racially driven attacks on social media are wrong and extremely hurtful. I’ve poured my heart and soil into this sport and I am so proud to represent my country.

“I will never waver from my values of competing with integrity, striving for excellence, upholding the values of sportsmanship and the rules that dictate fairness.”

Barbosu later received a bronze medal for the floor exercise final.

Despite a taxing conclusion to this year’s Summer Games, Chiles is focused on what’s ahead, particularly the Gold Over America Tour with teammate Simone Biles, who has offered unwavering support amid the medal ordeal.

“Yall better tap in!!!” Chiles exclaimed in an Instagram Story on Tuesday hyping the tour.

Described as “an exhilarating display of jaw-dropping athleticism and high-energy choreography with an inspirational message of hope, strength, resilience, and determination,” the tour kicks off on Sept. 16 in Oceanside, Calif., before concluding in Detroit on Nov. 3.
