Living the passion hand-in-hand! Ever since retiring in September 2022, Roger Federer has been seen embracing his off-court life with frequent traveling to various destinations with his family.
Traveling is an integral part of a tennis player’s life, but they don’t get much time to spend with their families.
Just a few months after his retirement, both Mirka and Federer were spotted spending “24hrs in Paris“ in order to attend a Moet & Chandon soiree at the Palais Brongniart.
Then again, in January 2023, they returned to the ‘City of Love‘ for a fashion week. Is Paris their favorite destination?
Well, that’s a serious question, but recently Federer revealed how he’s fulfilling his wife’s passion.
After almost 9 years of dating, Roger Federer and Mirka Federer tied the knot in 2019 and have since welcomed two sets of identical twins.
Time and again, we’ve seen Roger Federer reflecting on the amount of support he has received from his wife throughout his career.
For example, during a press conference at the 2017 AO, he revealed, “She’s been there when I had no titles and she’s still here 89 titles later, so she had a big part to play in [the win].” Shortly after taking his retirement from the sport, Federer got himself busy fulfilling the wishes of his wife.
His wife, Mirka Federer loves traveling around the world with her husband and during an interview on the Rolex Shanghai Masters official YouTube channel, Roger Federer was heard saying, “We’ve been to some fun places in recent times and I really enjoyed it.
Traveling has always been a passion of Mirka, my wife, and mine. Now, to be able to do that together with the family is incredible.“
In October 2023, Federer was seen going on a family trip to Japan with his wife Mirka and their four children.
They’ve also been spotted spending their vacation in Mallorca and Croatia last year. This year in May, Federer took a delightful trip to Thailand with his beloved family.
Where does Roger Federer like to travel most with his family, though? In a previous interview, he said, “We love going to the Maldives, for us it’s our quiet place where we’re all together.
We relax at the beach, have fun, it’s our source of energy…When we had no kids we used to go to Mauritius, Seychelles, Turks & Caicos. We like beaches, but since we live in Switzerland, hiking vacations have been a big thing for us.”

Is there a dream place that he’s yet to visit? Well, in reply to this Federer said, “I would love to travel to Africa more—my mom’s from South Africa, and we have a foundation there where we support kids for a better education.
“ It’s nice to see how Roger Federer has kept himself busy fulfilling the family goals with his wife Mirka, after his retirement. However, do you know it was Mirka Federer who had once helped Federer live his passion to the fullest?
How did Mirka Federer help Roger Federer in his career?
Roger Federer once acknowledged his wife Mirka’s unwavering support during his time as a tennis pro by expressing gratitude for her indispensable help over the years.
Just like Federer, even Mirka was also a tennis pro. Although Roger managed to establish himself as a legend in the sport, his wife was forced to end her tennis career in 2002 due to a recurring foot injury.
However, despite this massive setback in her career, Mirka stayed engaged in the tennis world by taking charge of Federer’s travel arrangements and public relations.
In 2010, during an interview with the New Yorker, Roger Federer revealed, “I said, Why don’t you just travel with me, help me out? I’d split with my coach, and I didn’t have a management team. And she said yes.”
He further added, “I’ve never felt lonely on the tour. We’ve hardly had any days apart in the last six years. She helped me for so long—she was with me when I hadn’t won a title yet—but now I want her to retreat a bit and just enjoy it more.”
Mirka has been a constant support for him through thick and thin. In fact, Roger Federer once also gave her credit for his longevity in the Tour.
He revealed how she had helped him with the warm-up during the finals of the tournament and also watched his matches even when she was 8 months pregnant with their twins.
“I think she (Mirka) loved the tour through my career, the travels, and the logistics behind… being my rock through thick and thin,” Federer on how his wife accomplished her dreams through his eyes.
Even during the making of his documentary, ‘FEDERER: Twelve Final Days’, the director Joe Sabia mentioned how “supportive” Mirka has been throughout the process. Federer and Mirka are truly one of the most beloved couples in the tennis world. Share your thoughts on this beautiful tennis couple.
