A suspect under investigation in connection with Liam Payne‘s death has denied providing the singer with drugs.

The individual, identified as Brian Nahuel Paiz, reportedly linked up with Payne multiple times before he tragically fell to his death on October 16.

Although the alleged drug dealer denied supplying drugs to Liam Payne, he admitted they knew each other and had used drugs together during a prior meetup.

In an interview on Argentinian TV, Brian Nahuel Paiz discussed his relationship with Liam Payne, as he now finds himself at the center of the investigation into the singer’s untimely death.

Paiz revealed that he first met Payne on October 2 while working as a waiter at a restaurant the singer had visited. After their initial interaction, they exchanged contact information and later arranged a second meeting in Payne’s room at a Palermo Hotel.

“I never supplied Liam with drugs. Liam’s first contact with me was at my place of work. We swapped details and saw each other later that night. It was all normal,” he said, per the Daily Mail.

“I’ve heard people saying he was taking drugs, but the truth is that when he got to the restaurant where I was working, he was already under the effects of drugs, and he didn’t actually eat anything.”

Paiz also claimed that after first meeting the singer, he received several Instagram messages from him because “he wanted to take drugs although he had already consumed narcotics.”

Paiz didn’t share many details about what happened when he first met with Payne, aside from mentioning they had whiskey shots together.

However, his account of their second meetup on October 13 suggested that their interaction was friendly and “intimate.”

“We spent the night together, we consumed drugs because the truth is that something intimate happened,” he said about their second meeting at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel.

“He wasn’t aggressive at all, he behaved really well with me, he was really sweet,” the drug dealer claimed. “He asked me if I was okay. I’ve got all the messages where we arranged that second meeting. I haven’t erased anything.”

Paiz, who has since been fired from his job, claimed that he never “accepted any money” or any other gift despite the singer making multiple offers to him.

He shared, “I have messages where he’s offering me money because he was apparently used to offering money for everything, but I never accepted anything.”

“When I left, he wanted to give me some clothes so that I had a memory of being with him, but I left it behind the TV because I didn’t want to take it,” Paiz added.

Apart from Paiz, a friend of Payne, Rogelio “Roger” Nores has also been fingered as a suspect in the police investigation into the singer’s death.

However, he recently denied having a hand in what happened and that he never abandoned his friend, contrary to the allegations being made.

“I never abandoned Liam, I went to his hotel three times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened,” Nores said, per the Daily Mail.

“There were over 15 people at the hotel lobby chatting and joking with him when I left. I could have never imagined something like this would happen.”

He also clarified the nature of his relationship with the former One Direction member to refute claims that he was his manager.

“I wasn’t Liam’s manager. He was just my very dear friend,” said Nores, who also confirmed he had given a statement to the police. “I’m really heartbroken with this tragedy, and I’ve been missing my friend every day.”

Argentinian authorities are still searching for the singer’s missing £30,000 Rolex, despite recent raids on the homes of three men identified as suspects.

Payne was reportedly seen wearing his expensive watch in CCTV footage and photos shortly before his death on October 16, around 5 pm local time.

A judicial source who spoke to the Argentine newspaper La Nacion shared: “We know from images that have been analyzed that Liam had the watch on the day of his death. He had it in one of his hands, and he had it at least two to three hours before his fatal hotel fall. We looked for it in his hotel room and couldn’t find it.”

The insider continued: “The watch was searched for in the homes of the three people being investigated on suspicion of abandoning Liam and the supply and facilitation of drugs, as well as in the homes of the two female escorts who were with him in his room the afternoon he died.”

According to the insider, the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, where the tragic incident occurred, will undergo another search within the next 72 hours, focusing on the singer’s upscale suite in hopes of the watch turning up.

“The room is still sealed off by court order, and no- one can enter. Searching for the watch in the homes of the people Liam had contact with before his death was the initial priority, but now another inspection will take place to see if it remains somewhere in his room,” the source added, per the Daily Mail.

As part of the investigation, Paiz, Nores, and a third suspect have had their homes searched by the police.

It is still unclear what authorities discovered during the raids, as no details have been made public.

The authorities also recently conducted a fresh raid on the hotel where Payne stayed in Argentina and carted away several “elements of interest for the investigation,” per La Nacion.

It was also mentioned that “documents and videos” from the lobby and courtyard were part of what was obtained at the time. Other items like the hotel’s computers, phones, and other devices were also taken away to be analyzed.
