Alexis Ohanian never misses a chance to show off his quick wit and undeniable love for his wife, Serena Williams.

While he’s a powerhouse entrepreneur and the brain behind Reddit, Ohanian has proudly embraced the title of Serena’s biggest cheerleader

. And, as usual, he’s proving that he’s not just a supportive husband but also a master of cheeky comebacks.

It all started when a social media user called out a media outlet for referring to Ohanian simply as “Serena’s husband.” 

Taking to X, a user highlighted how ESPN framed the title of one of their stories as “Serena’s husband gifts donation to UVA Women.” 

This seemingly did not go well with the user who expressed his disappointment, sharing that even Ohanian has his own share of professional achievements.

“I’m sure @alexisohanian doesn’t mind being referred to as “Serena’s husband” but come onnnnnn ESPN. Really??? A L E X I S O H A N I A N I get that she’s the GOAT & all lol.

But the man is also extremely accomplished & highly successful in his own right 👏🏼 😅,” the user wrote. And true to his style, Ohanian did not hold back from making a cheeky reply to the remarks.

Responding to the post, Ohanian commented, “Hehe Reddit cofounder and/or @weareangelcity founding control owner just doesn’t have the same clickthru-rate, eh?”

 Ohanian co-founded Reddit in 2005 . Besides, he became a co-owner of the Angel City FC National Women’s Soccer League franchise: WFC LA/Angel City in 2020.

However, he believes that these titles will not give the media outlets the same engagement as being referred to as Serena’s husband. This, however, is not the first time that such a situation has unfolded.

In 2021, Alexis Ohanian retweeted a message about representation in sports from The Gist USA, in which he was termed as “Serena Williams’ husband.”

This quickly captured the attention of a social media user who replied, “I love how you don’t mind that they call you Serena William’s husband.”

Sharing a similar response back then, Ohanian wrote, “I’ll be a self-made billionaire one day and most people will still know me as Serena’s husband (or Olympia’s dad) and that’s fine by me,” highlighting that he doesn’t mind such labels. But interestingly, this is not the only tag that has been attributed to Ohanian.

Alexis Ohanian’s love for his family knows no bounds. Despite being a multi-millionaire, he has continued to remain an ordinary husband and father, spending leisure time quite often with his family.

However, this trait of his has also led him to get some surprising labels like that of an umbrella holder, as was witnessed at the Paris Olympics this year.

Serena Williams, Alexis Ohanian, and their daughter Olympia marked their presence at the Paris Olympics. However, as soon as they entered the zone, Paris’ unexpected downpour started.

Showcasing his caring nature, Ohanian, held the umbrella for his family. However, he was mistaken as Williams’ umbrella holder by a Eurosport commentator.

“She looks absolutely incredible. She’s got someone just behind us holding an umbrella. Those are the levels you aspire to, to have an actual umbrella holder behind you,” the commentator remarked. However, this did not offend the Reddit co-founder.

Taking a funny jibe over the remarks, Ohanian later wrote on his social media, “Olympia. Serena. Serena’s Personal Umbrella Holder. 😂 Let the games begin! I’ll be watching a lot of T&F to soak up @athlos inspiration,🥇.” 

Hence, it’s safe to say that while Alexis Ohanian may wear many hats—tech mogul, investor, and dad extraordinaire, he does not mind being labeled as Serena Williams’ husband.
