Iga Swiatek has made history by winning the French Open for the third year in a row.
The Polish star came out on top at Roland Garros with a 6-2 6-1 victory over Italian Jasmine Paolini on Saturday.

To win three in a row is a remarkable achievement and one that puts her firmly among the greats of women’s tennis.
Swiatek equals the record of Monica Seles and Justine Henin, who were previously the only two women to win three straight titles in Paris during the Open era.
Yugoslavian Seles won in Roland Garros in 1990, 1991 and 1992 – three of her nine grand slams which featured four Australian Opens, a Wimbledon crown and a US Open title.
Henin won seven grand slams in her career, with four of those seven coming at Roland Garros.
Her three-year period of dominance came between 2005 and 2007.
Swiatek also matched another record, joining Serena Williams to become one of the only women to win consecutive titles in Madrid, Rome and Paris – the triple crown of European red clay.
“I was almost out of the tournament in the second round – it’s been a really emotional tournament,” said Swiatek.

Paolini at least has another shot at a Roland Garros title, as she returns on Sunday for the doubles final alongside Italian partner Sara Errani.
“It’s been an intense 15 days but the best days of my life. I’m really proud of myself,” she said.
Swiatek will now be turning her attention to Wimbledon where she’ll be keen to add to her grand slam count.
With her best result being a quarter-final finish last year, the 23-year-old will be keen to go even further this time around.
