Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth finally called their on-and-off relationship quits in 2020, with the finalization of their divorce. But it appears Miley still feels she didn’t get the closer she needs to move on for good, and has reached out to her ex. But Liam appears unwilling to have any contact.

Why Liam Allegedly Won’t Give Miley Closure

“Miley’s still very scarred and tormented by the way things ended with Liam. When they broke up she really thought it was for the best and that she’d never look back, but now all these years have gone by and she’s having to admit she still misses him,” a source told Life & Style. “She’s convinced that if they were to sit down and talk it out and each make amends that she’d be able to fully move on.”

“She needs closure, but he won’t give it to her,” they continued. “He says he’s over it and has moved on and just wants to leave what they had in the past and doesn’t see any need to hash anything out,.”

The source added, “Miley is used to getting what she wants, so it’s driving her nuts that Liam won’t agree to see her.”

According to the insider, the dynamic has been exacerbated as the connection between Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus’s family remains strong, particularly with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, and sister, Noah Cyrus. The source elaborated that Liam “talks to them all the time, so she feels doubly hurt by his diss.”

Liam Reportedly Remains Close To Miley’s Family

Recent social media activity has also hinted at continued communication between Liam and Miley’s siblings. Noah Cyrus subtly indicated ongoing contact by “liking” a selfie Liam shared on Instagram in April. The photo showcased Liam displaying his toned arms while working out at the gym, suggesting a lingering connection between the former couple and Miley’s family circle.

Miley and Liam’s relationship was a rollercoaster ride of love, starting with their initial meeting on the set of the film The Last Song in 2009. The pair quickly struck up a romance, and by March 2010, they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Oscars. However, their relationship hit a rough patch in 2013, leading to their first breakup.

Despite the temporary split, Miley and Liam rekindled their romance in 2016 and became engaged once again. The following year, the couple made headlines with their surprise wedding in December 2018, exchanging vows in an intimate ceremony at their home in Tennessee.

Their marriage, however, was short-lived, and rumors of trouble in paradise began to surface shortly after their nuptials. Reports suggested that the couple’s differing lifestyles and priorities contributed to their marital strain, with Miley’s evolving persona and Liam’s desire for a more settled life cited as factors. In August 2019, just eight months after tying the knot, Miley and Liam announced their separation, with their divorce being finalized in January 2020.

Despite their split, both have maintained a level of respect and admiration for each other in public statements, so fans may never know the real reason for why it didn’t work out in the end (or why Liam is avoiding Miley now).
