Serena Williams explained the possibility of returning to play professional tennis.
The 42-year-old is widely regarded as the greatest player of all time having won 23 Grand Slam titles through the course of her illustrious career.
She set a new standard in tennis with her power and aggression from the baseline while possessing what many consider to be the best serve in the women’s game.
Williams hung up her racket following the 2022 US Open but tennis is never too far away from the mind of the former World number one.
Is Serena Williams going to play professional tennis again?
Though she has called time on her glittering career, Williams has not ruled out the possibility of returning to the WTA tour.
The tennis legend spent 27 years in the game and made such a significant impact both on and off the court.
Even though she is not playing at present, the competitive spirit burns bright within Wiliams and the desire to pick up her racker again remains.
“I think as long as I’m healthy, that’s always going to be in the back, back, back, back, back, back, back of my mind,” she told Vanity Fair.
“I stay fit. I stay healthy. When I’m watching, it’s like, Okay, well, you could be out there too.”

Is Serena Williams watching Wimbledon?
The 2024 Wimbledon Championships is now approaching its climax following the women’s semi-finals.
This is a stage of the tournament Williams advanced to on 12 occasions in her playing career, and went on to claim the title seven times.
Williams, who last played at Wimbledon in 2022, commented on whether she was watching the action unfold at SW19. “Oh my God, I just can’t right now,” she said.
This is because Williamas has been promoting her new ESPN+ docuseries titled ‘In The Arena: Serena Williams’, which hit the streaming platform on July 10.
Furthermore, she will host the 2024 ESPY Awards at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre. She is just the fourth woman to host the show after Danica Patrick, Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird.
