Fans have seen multiple versions of Rihanna, the new cover star of Vogue China’s April edition, even though the interview hasn’t yet been released.
The 36-year-old singer and beauty guru is already rocking a number of new looks, such as a yellow oversized ruffle coat covered in post-it note-like patterns and a floral-patterned suit with a cowboy hat atop her long blonde-brown hair.
But one of her most famous outfits features her donning a lavish, billowing white gown with enormous puff sleeves, braids, and makeup reminiscent of the Rococo era.In a clip from the interview that was posted to Instagram, Rihanna discussed why the history of braiding fascinates her so much and why it was crucial that she teach her two sons about it.
Riоt Rose, who is seven months old, and RZA, who is nearly two years old, are Rihanna’s sons. She cites her longtime partner A$AP Rocky (actual nаme Rakim Athelaston Meyers) for igniting her interest in the topic.
She told the publication that it gave her a fresh perspective on her hair, explaining, “This is a way to preserve our heritage and a custom left by our forefathers. It helps us to understand our origins.”
She went on to sаy, “This is our lost history,” underscoring the significance for their boys. It’s in our genes, therefore I instantly wаnted my kids to have braids in their hair.”

The hitmaker looked stunning in an all-black ensemble and a blonde pixie cut with wispy bangs framing her face. Her new golden hair’s dark tones went well with her complexion.

She identified her hair idols in an Elle interview from 2018: “It’s probably strange to most, but it’s in between Cindy Crawford and Toni Braxton from back in the day, with all her short haircuts. Her hair was so beautiful and effortless.”
