Zac Efron reacts to his High School Musical co-stars Vanessa Hudgens, whom he used to date, and Ashley Tisdale both being pregnant

Zac Efron is extra enthusiastic for the pregnancies of his ex-girlfriend and former High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens, 35, and Ashley Tisdale, 38.

The Princess Switch actress and The Iron Claw actor, 36, dated for five years from 2005 to 2010 when both were still teenagers.

Vanessa is expecting her first child with her husband, professional baseball player Cole Tucker.

Their co-star Tisdale, is pregnant at the same time with her second child with her husband Christopher French.

‘Oh they’re going to be the best moms ever, those girls, are you kidding me, oh my gosh,’ he told Access Hollywood at the premiere of his new romantic comedy A Family Affair, co-starring Nicole Kidman and Joey King.

‘Yeah, we’re going to have some fun family reunions coming up,’ he gushed.

All three actors starred in the three High School Musical movies together, which premiered between 2006 and 2008.

The cast have remained friendly since HSM came to an end and even exes Hudgens and Efron are on good terms after all these years.

Hudgens announced her pregnancy on the red carpet of the 2024 Academy Awards in March, three months after tying the knot with Tucker in Tulum, Mexico in December 2023.

‘Cole treats her better than any guy she has been with,’ a source told Us Weekly earlier this year. ‘They are in a really good place. With marriage and a baby, she is ready for the next phase of life.’

Tisdale also revealed her pregnancy in March, sharing the news that her daughter Jupiter, three, was going to be a big sister on Instagram.

‘We can’t wait to meet you,’ she captioned a carousel of photos.

As for Efron, he’s very sweet and attentive to his baby sister Olivia, who is more than 30 years younger than him, but he’s not ready for one of his own yet.

‘I have a bit more growing to do, probably. I don’t know. Yeah, I don’t know what to say now,’ he said during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in May 2022 when asked about playing the father of an 11 year old girl in Firestarter.

‘I think that was a healthy dose to put me off of [having kids] for as long as necessary,’ he teased at the time.

He did, however give a shout-out to his own mother in the audience.

‘I have a healthy respect for parents, very grateful for them all. I love you so much, mom.’
