Wheel of Fortune under fire for ‘misleading’ puzzle that fails to fit its category as fans erupt ‘WTF!’

WHEEL of Fortune fans are in an uproar after a puzzle categorized as “Rhyme Time” turned out to be anything but rhyming.

As Friday’s episode aired, dozens of viewers expressed bewilderment with comments like “WTF” and “Don’t piss me off.”

Midway through the game came the troublesome two-word puzzle under the category “Rhyme Time.”

The puzzle proved challenging to crack, and both Tammy, a Texas-based second-grade teacher, and Randy, a sales manager, went bankrupt (ultimately losing the game).

Jill, an elementary school teacher, eventually solved it after guessing the “y’s”, correctly declaring: “Absolutely Positively.”

Pat Sajak, 77, ruled her correct, adding she won a vacation: “You’re absolutely positively going to the Island of Antigua!”

‘ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY’ NOT

Wheel of Fortune fans were furious over the Rhyme Time puzzle that may have ended the same way but did not, in fact, rhyme.

One comment read: “’Absolutely Positively’ doesn’t belong in the Rhyme Time category a**holes

Another fan wrote: “Ok Wheel of Fortune, how does ‘absolutely positively’ rhyme?

A third penned: “Absolutely positively not rhyme time, wheel of fortune.” #wtf #wheel #WheelOfFortune #rhymetime”

And a fourth: “@MaggieSajak please tell your father that ‘absolutely positively’ does not rhyme @WheelofFortune.”

Others read: “Does Absolutely Positively rhyme? Because I don’t think it does, but @WheelofFortune thinks it does.”

“Absolutely Positively is NOT a rhyme #WheelOfFortune.”

“Rhyme Time on Wheel Of Fortune and the puzzle answer was ‘Absolutely Positively.’ Don’t piss me off.”

“Came for the comments to make sure I wasn’t the only one who thinks absolutely positively is not a rhyme.”

“Do ‘Absolutely Positively’ rhyme? Absolutely, positively NO!!!”

“I’m calling horse s**t on ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY being answer in a Rhyme Time category.”

This isn’t the only time that game show fans have recently called Wheel of Fortune into question.

Last week, fans accused the iconic game show of manipulating the prizes in its coveted bonus round.

All five winners landed on the same BMW prize wedge in the bonus round, which, by night five, appeared more than just coincidental.

One fan took to X (formerly Twitter) writing: “OK, is Wheel of Fortune scamming us? How are they spinning the BMW 5 nights in a row?”

Another fan quipped, “I firmly believe that every prize on the wheel in the bonus round is a BMW.”

A third figured out that without manipulating the prize wedges on the final wheel, the odds of the event were 1 in 1.7 million.

Pat is retiring at the end of Season 41 in June 2024, marking the end of an era as Ryan Seacrest will begin hosting next fall.
