Despite enjoying a few years away from the public eye, Justin Bieber has faced a lot of scrutiny in recent years. While his ascension to success in the music industry paved the way for a lot of controversy in the early part of his career, lately Bieber’s been blasted for his relationship with his wife, Hailey Bieber. This includes how their recent Instagram posts may be signaling marriage problems and how the “Baby” singer may have turned to religion amid a mental health breakdown.

But more recently, Bieber’s physical appearance has been under the spotlight. Mainly because he has been accused of getting a hair transplant following expert testimony that his hairline had receded and then miraculously grown back. In this article, we will delve into the unproven rumors about Justin Bieber getting a hair transplant. Following that, we will delve into the other plastic and cosmetic surgeries Bieber has been accused of undergoing and see if they have any merit.

Did Justin Bieber Get A Hair Transplant After His Hairline Receded?

Male pattern balding is far more typical in Hollywood than some might believe. This is because it’s prevalent in all of the male population. The difference is, that more treatments are available if you have the money to pay for them. Given how much Justin Bieber makes from his concerts after taxes and expenses, there’s no doubt that the “Beauty and the Beat” singer can afford just about any cosmetic treatment he could possibly desire.

According to an article by The Daily Mail, multiple plastic surgeons and hair growth experts have claimed that Justin Bieber underwent a hair transplant in secret. The accusations were accompanied by various side-by-side images of Bieber now compared to a few years ago. The emphasis was placed on how Bieber’s hairline had clearly receded in the top right and left corners of his forehead. But in recent images, Bieber appeared to have a fairly straight hairline, signaling a change.

New York City plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Linkov took to TikTok to explain how the 30-year-old musician and music producer seemingly had a hair transplant. Of course, these claims are currently unproven and simply should be taken with a grain of salt, aside from the fact that Dr. Linkov is an expert and rated by USA Today as one of the top surgeons in America.

In the TikTok video, Dr. Linkov claimed that Bieber’s hairline changed in just two years. But instead of receding more, as what happens with most men, Beiber’s hairline appeared to have regrown. The main two images Dr. Linkov showed were a buzzcut from Super Bowl 2022 and one from late April 2024 where his hair is longer and wet.

According to The Daily Mail, the surgeon said the following of the Bieber hair transplant rumors:

“When I look at his forehead, [the hairline is now] much flatter, it doesn’t have that recession. And when the hair is wet, you can tell the regularity of the [hairline], so it looks like maybe he did have a transplant.”

While medical topicals and orals exit that promote hair growth, such as Minoxidil and various natural remedies, nothing on the market would account for Bieber’s regrowth, according to New York City plastic surgeon Dr. Jim Harris. This also includes the laser hats and PSP injections, which stimulate growth at the hairline versus regrowing balding spots. According to The Daily Mail, Dr. Harris agrees with Dr. Linkov, stating:

“There’s no medication that’s going to turn a receding hairline around. I think, based on [photos], I would say, he has likely had a hair restoration surgery.”

Dr. Linkov also claimed that Bieber has spent more time hiding his hair under hoodies and hats over the past couple of years. This means he could have hidden his recovery from a hair transplant more effectively. It also hasn’t hurt that the singer has partially receded from the limelight in recent years. Previously there were rumors of Bieber’s hair falling out due to bleaching his hair blonde. Somewhat ironically, Bieber, in his more controversial days, blasted Prince Harry William for losing his hair.

The plastic surgeons quoted by The Daily Mail claimed that Justin Bieber likely received Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) in order to fill in the lost hair at points in his hairline. The procedure requires the individual to receive local anesthesia in order for the surgeons to take hair follicles from the back of their head and placed in the areas of hair loss. According to Healthline, the procedure can be done in a way that hides the scars and typically costs anywhere from $4,000 to $15,000 per session . Multiple sessions are needed and the average cost in total, depending on the region and patient, is around $50,000.

Dr. Linkov believes that Justin Bieber likely had around 1,8000 follicles transferred from the back of his head to his hairline. According to The Daily Mail, this is far larger than the “normal amount” of 500 to 1,500. The result, however, is a gorgeous head of hair that Justin Bieber not only has but has become known for.

Has Justin Bieber Ever Received Plastic Surgery?

At the time of this writing, Justin Bieber has never admitted to getting any plastic surgery or any cosmetic surgery. He has also not been rumored to have received many procedures, aside from his alleged hair transplant. According to multiple sources, Bieber has been accused of getting a nose job, fillers, and botox. However, none of this has been proven nor does there appear to be much evidence to support it.

The most notable change to Bieber’s face was a temporary one when he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome. The neurological disorder caused Bieber’s face to temporarily slope. While some may have thought it was a plastic surgery gone wrong, that wasn’t the case whatsoever. Fortunately, Bieber appears to be doing quite well after the frightening ordeal.
