Red Bull driver Max Verstappen claimed he doesn’t need to take a picture of himself in the gym and impress someone as he already has a girlfriend. The three-time world champion has been dating Kelly Piquet for over three years since they started going out in late 2020.

Piquet is a Brazilian model and is the daughter of three-time motorsports world champion Nelson Piquet Sr. She had previously dated former Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat, with whom she has a daughter, Penelope.

In a clip doing the rounds on social media, Max Verstappen is seen answering questions from Sport Bible with his teammate Sergio Perez. Both raise red flags when asked about people who flaunt their gym pictures. Verstappen said:

“I actually don’t go to the gym anymore. I get annoyed by everyone else so I just do it at home. I don’t need to impress anyone as I’ve got my girlfriend.”

Perez agreed with his teammate and claimed that he too has a gym at home and isn’t a fan of taking selfies of his body to post on social media.

Max Verstappen previews this weekend’s Austrian GP

Max Verstappen pointed out some of the things he loves about the Austrian GP weekend at Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, which will also be a Sprint weekend for the third year running. The Dutch driver spoke about his love for Austrian food and weather in the pre-race press conference while addressing the challenges of the Sprint weekend as well.

“Nice, nice weather, good food. Home Grand Prix for us as well, which I think is always very nice. And yeah, the performance side of things, you know, the Sprint weekend is always a bit more difficult, a bit more tricky, I think, for everyone to get everything right. But that’s fine. It’s a different challenge and we’ll try to do the best we can,” Verstappen said.

The 26-year-old further claimed that he is a fan of the track and called it ‘great to drive’ on while previewing the changes made to Turn 9 and 10 for this year’s race:

“Yeah, I mean, in general, of course, it’s a great track to drive. I always enjoy it a lot, and especially the high-speed corners around here, they’re a lot of fun. But, of course, with the layout that we have, with the run-offs naturally behind it, we’re always talking about track limits.”

The Red Bull driver concluded by stating that there is no permanent solution to the issues of track limits as the sport has to share the track with MotoGP and other motorsports.

The Red Bull Ring, home of the reigning world champions, remains Max Verstappen’s most successful track in the sport, the driver having won four Austrian GPs and one Styrian GP in 2021 there.
