Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou fight purse confirmed with MMA star to make 10 times more than last UFC fight

The fight purse for Tyson Fury’s eagerly anticipated boxing showdown with MMA star Francis Ngannou has been revealed.

The combat sports crossover bout takes place this Saturday, October 28, and both fighters will be battling it out for a unique prize.

Although no titles are on the line in the fight, the winner will be able to call themselves the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’.

The ringwalks are scheduled to take place at 6pm UK time, with the likes of Joseph Parker and Carlos Takam competing on the undercard.

The action will go down in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – and will see Fury box competitively in the Gulf state for the first time.

The ‘Gypsy King’ does have past experience of wrestling in the country, having taken on and defeated Braun Strowman at the WWE Crown Jewel event in 2019.

It will be Fury’s first fight of any kind since December 2022, while Ngannou hasn’t competed since defeating Cyril Gane to defend and unify the UFC Heavyweight Championship, shortly before leaving the promotion.

The bout will be contested under official professional boxing rules, with the three judges adopting the 10-point must scoring system.

The fight purse has already been confirmed for the event.

Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou: What is the fight purse?

Ngannou is said to be earning £6 million for the fight – a huge 10 times more than his last UFC purse.

The French-Cameroonian fighter reportedly pocketed £600,000 from his last UFC fight against Gane.

However, Fury has taken to social media recently to claim that Ngannou is actually earning $10 million (£8.1 million).

The amount the ‘Gypsy King’ will earn from the fight is yet to be disclosed. For his fight against Deontay Wilder, both fighters earned $5 million as a base purse, but had over $25 million in guaranteed earnings, as per the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
