Tyson Fury slams Netflix show about his family, brands it "bullsh**t"

Tyson Fury has laid into the Netflix show about his family, branding it “bulls**t”.

The WBC world heavyweight champion and his family were featured in the series, titled “At home with the Furys’, which has proved to be a huge hit on the streaming service, with the first episode said to have racked up 2.6 million viewers in no time.

The documentary is described as “hilarious and heartfelt docusoap” and features a total of eight episodes, providing an insight into Fury’s life away from the ring.

The undefeated boxer is of course the main star but Fury’s wife Paris, dad John, brother Tommy Fury and children are all featured.

Fury had to put up with cameras following him on a regular basis but he labelled the show “bulls**t” – for not giving a look at the “whole reality” of his life.

“Netflix didn’t want to film the whole reality,” he said on an appearance on the Sundae Conversation with Caleb Pressley

“(It’s) proper bulls**t. I said you need to film me taking a s**t, you need to film me having a shower, you need to film me in the bath and they said, ‘Nope, can’t do it’.”

The series picks up with Fury after he announced his retirement from boxing in April 2022 after knocking out Dillian Whyte at Wembley and details his preparations for his most recent tear-up with Derek Chisora.

The 35-year-old signed up for the Netflix programme but tried to get out of it in the early days, consulting lawyers after feeling as though he made a “mistake”.

Speaking on Capital XTRA breakfast, Fury explained: “I wanted out. I was like, couple of weeks in, I said: ‘Is there any way [out]?’

“I’d be on the phone with my lawyers. ‘Is there any way I can get out of this? I don’t know what I’ve signed up for again. I never said I’d do it again. I’ve done it again, I’ve made a mistake’.”

Despite Fury’s comments, Fury is believed to have given the green light to a second series and so will have to get used to the cameras once again.

He returns to the ring against former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou on October 28 in Saudi Arabia, though his belt will not be on the line.

At Home With The Furys is available to watch on Netflix now.
