Legendary boxer Roy Jones Jr. has shared devastating news that his son, DeAndre, has passed away by suicide. Jones Jr., 55, broke the tragic news on social media on Monday, expressing his profound sorrow and urging for understanding during this difficult time.
“Unfortunately, my son DeAndre took his life on Saturday,” Jones Jr. wrote. He added, “I’m so thankful that God allowed me to come home Friday night to spend the last night of his life with me and the family. I know a lot of people are going through tough times right now, but nothing is worth taking your own life. God gives it and God should be the one to take it away.”
The boxing world has rallied around Jones Jr., who asked for privacy as he and his family mourn the loss of DeAndre. The young man is survived by his mother, Natlyn, and brothers Roy III and DeShaun, who now face the heart-wrenching task of moving forward without him.
