It could cause potential weakness or numbness in the lower body
Mike Tyson has a condition that affects his mobility and speech.
The boxing legend needed assistance at Miami airport from a staff member and had also been seen using a walking stick in New York. This incident was later explained to be due to sciatica, a type of nerve pain that starts in the lower back and travels down the sciatic nerve to the thighs, causing potential weakness or numbness in the lower body.

A postponed fight
Meanwhile, Tyson’s bout with Jake Paul, originally slated for July 20, was postponed to November 15. This change came after Tyson fell ill during an American Airlines flight from Miami to Los Angeles, experiencing nausea and dizziness.
Though Tyson is said to be in stable health, his illness has prevented him from training for several weeks to avoid the risk of perforating his stomach wall. This delay has pushed the fight back by four months.
The fight’s new date is contingent on Tyson passing rigorous health assessments. The event could still be canceled if he doesn’t meet the necessary health standards.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation will be closely monitoring his condition, with the fight planned to be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
“Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great,” paramedics said in statement.
“He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”
Tyson retired from professional boxing in 2005 due to a back injury and had also struggled with knee problems towards the end of his career. Despite these issues, he appeared in good shape during his 2020 exhibition match with Roy Jones Jr.
