Anthony Joshua gave his views on Tyson Fury’s angry reaction to True Geordie’s questions this week.
Anthony Joshua has reacted Tyson Fury’s interview with YouTuber True Geordie that was released earlier this week.
The WBC heavyweight champion of the world made headlines with his abrupt exit from a remote interview in which he faced questions about his upcoming bout with Dereck Chisora.
Fury, 34, is set to defend his world title against Chisora, who he faces for a third time having been victorious in 2011 and 2014 and fans aren’t overly excited about the prospect another one-sided beating.
The self-proclaimed ‘Gypsy King’ wasn’t happy with the questions being asked about Chisora being the opponent, which led Fury to throw a barrage of insults at the YouTuber.
Fury fired off at True Geordie saying – “I think you’re a tosser. You little tosspot. And I won’t be doing any more interviews with you little tosspot, bearded, bald-headed tosser. Kiss my b**ls, you little w**ker. You little sh**house. Suck a d**k.” – before abruptly leaving the interview.
Joshua himself was on hand to give his reaction to the video, as he spoke to us exclusively at the JD Christmas Campaign launch party, where he revealed that Fury needed to show more respect in the way he carries himself as a world champion.
“Listen, there’s one thing being the champion of the ring and there’s another being the champion of the people outside of the ring,” he told SPORTbible exclusively.
“I know it’s tough with fighters right, we’re not part of an institute so we’re a bit free spirited but I just think there’s a way that we need to conduct ourselves. Regardless if the interviewer is prodding us.
“We need to conduct ourselves in better fashion because there’s youngsters that are watching us.
“I’m not the judge who can say what’s right or wrong, we just have to try and conduct ourselves in better fashion when we can, when we’re in front of the camera. When we can, just try. Try, try, try, that’s for the up and coming fighters.”
Joshua hasn’t fought since his split decision loss to Oleksandr Usyk in August, when he failed to regain his unified heavyweight titles in Saudi Arabia.

The 33-year-old was heavily rumoured to be fighting Fury before the end of the year, but the fight never materialised, which has left us with Fury vs Chisora on December 3rd.
In recent weeks, Joshua has been vocal about mental health and his own issues from the loss to Usyk, in an open and honest interview with DAZN.
In terms of Fury, the boxing world expects him to beat Chisora for a third time when the pair meet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and, proceeding that, the latest rumours are telling us that we are likely to see a clash for the undisputed heavyweight world championship in late February/early March between Fury and Usyk.
However, for now, all eyes are on December 3rd and we don’t expect to see any True Geordie exclusives with Fury in the near future.
