Basketball icon Dennis Rodman shared a captivating anecdote about an incident involving Mike Tyson while enjoying a night out with a companion on the bustling Las Vegas strip.
Rodman recounted how he orchestrated a playful moment where his friend willingly received a light tap from Tyson while the duo were unwinding in Nevada several years ago.
The esteemed basketball player made an appearance on Tyson’s “Hotboxin” Podcast, aiming to entertain listeners with the details of this particular episode.
Dennis Rodman shared an anecdote about his encounters with Mike, recalling their frequent meetings at Ceasers Palace.
He humorously remarked that Mike had a penchant for shopping, often acquiring tigers, monkeys, and birds, comparing him to a charismatic duo known as Seigfried and Roy.
Rodman mentioned their regular visits to Las Vegas, where they would spend time at Mike’s residence, forging a friendship.
Delving into a specific shopping excursion that had the potential for a more eventful outcome, Rodman proceeded to share his story.
On a particular day, while relaxing by the pool at the Mirage, he suggested they embark on a shopping trip to Caesars Palace.
“So we go around. I decide to visit Versace and indulge in some unnecessary shopping, and they spot Mike.
“They announce Mike Tyson’s presence, and everyone else is asked to leave, not because of me, as I was insignificant. It was just me, Mike, and a few other friends remaining.
“One of them was Doug McAllister, a small Caucasian guy. We were trying on suits when my friend had this brilliant idea. He approached Mike and greeted him, saying, ‘Hey Mike, how’s it going?’
“Mike turned around, and my friend playfully tapped him on the cheek, not forcefully, but rather lightly. Immediately, Mike approached me and said, ‘Dennis, I care about you deeply, but I’ll take care of that person!’”
I thought to myself, ‘He must be intoxicated.’ He continued, “Alright, if that ever happens again, I’m going to confront that person. I won’t hold back.” I casually responded, “Feel free, I have no objections.”
Towards the end of Rodman’s narrative, Tyson interjected, affirming, “I am now a man of peace.”
Considering Tyson’s past as a formidable fighter, it’s remarkable that no retaliation occurred, regardless of who provoked him. The guy is truly fortunate. It’s like tempting fate.
