Taylor Swift may have nearly two decades of experience in the public eye, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it gets easier with time, especially given her personal life has been spread all over the tabloid since debuting her relationship with Travis Kelce last September.

Travis recently opened up about what dating the pop star has been like, insisting that they’ll get through the media circus and fan attention, so long as they remain in love, that is.

“As long as we’re happy, we can’t listen to anything that’s outside noise. That’s all that matters,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end said in a press conference, adding he and Taylor have “talked about” how to manage the publicity.

“I brought this upon myself, and I do enjoy having fun with it all,” Travis, 34, went on. “The biggest thing is making sure my focus is right here in this building.”

Travis Reveals How He’s Dealing With Public Pressure While Dating Taylor

Though he remained positive, the NFL star referred to the impact all the publicity can take on a relationship, in general, adding it can also be a distraction from his career.

“You hear the media throughout the year if we’re not having success, you know, maybe throw it out there that I wasn’t focused or that the team isn’t focused on certain things, and if you’re in this building, you know exactly what’s going on,” Travis explained, saying he’s had to learn to drown the unwanted opinions and rumors out.

“So, you gotta compartmentalize what you’re hearing and make sure that you’re staying on task and giving everybody in the building and on that team the right perception,” he continued.

Though Travis wasn’t shy to dish on his relationship with Taylor, he didn’t comment on the ongoing stalker situation the singer has faced. A man showed up to her Tribeca apartment multiple times this month trying to come face-to-face with Taylor. He’s been arrested various times, but even returned to her apartment within hours of being released. Taylor has unfortunately faced multiple stalker threats over the years.

Travis’ Family Has Expressed Safety Concerns

The scary situation came only months after Travis’ older brother Jason Kelce expressed safety concerns for the couple as well as his family, considering how high-profile Traylor’s romance has become.

“It’s certainly been weird, the level that it is now,” Jason told NBC Sports in October. “On one hand, I’m happy for my brother that he seems to be in a relationship that he’s excited about, that he is genuine about. But there’s another end of it where it’s like, ‘Man, this is a lot.’”

He described Taylor’s fame as ” another level of stardom that typically football players don’t deal with.”

“So, on one hand, really, really happy for my brother and where he’s at in his current situation with Taylor,” Jason continued. “But on the other hand, there’s some alarms sometimes with how over-in-pursuit people can be.”

For now, Taylor hasn’t commented on Travis’ recent admission about what it’s been like to date her in the spotlight.
