Kim Kardashian’s daughter, North West, was recently spotted giving a side-eye to her mother’s friends at a family gathering, sparking conversations among fans about Kim’s apparent discomfort.

During the third episode of The Kardashians Season 5, Kim, 43, and North, 10, attended a social event featuring Khloé Kardashian, 39. As the duo arrived, Kim greeted everyone with enthusiasm, saying, “Hey guys!”

Khloé and her friends responded with equally high-pitched excitement, “Hello! Hi! How are you?” However, North’s reaction was less enthusiastic. She rolled her eyes and placed her hand on her hip, clearly unimpressed.

Khloé noticed North’s reaction and wrapped her arms around her niece, teasing, “I love your side-eye.” Meanwhile, Kim appeared visibly upset as Khloé and North bonded.

In the comments section of an Instagram fan account, viewers noted Kim’s apparent fear that her “annoyed daughter” might embarrass her in front of her “fake friends.”

“That’s why I don’t blame North for acting the way she does. I have a mother that acts differently behind closed doors!” one viewer commented. Another added, “My mom was always different around outsiders. I ended up looking like a disrespectful brat in public (like North) because I would be annoyed by her fake-loving persona.”

A third viewer suggested, “Probably being surrounded by fake adults her whole life has probably made [North] distrust/dislike all adults.” Another person wrote, “Kids usually act like this around people when their parents start gossiping around them. Kim looks terrified that North might do something.”

“Kim is VISIBLY nervous when she’s around people with North. ‘What is my child going to do now?’” a commentator noted.

Later in the episode, North’s mood seemed to improve after watching her mother’s performance on American Horror Story: Delicate. Despite the earlier tension, the preteen appeared to be in better spirits, showcasing the ups and downs of family dynamics in the Kardashian household.
