Jose Mourinho has finally found his new club for next season as he will become the head coach of Fenerbache in the Super Lig in Turkey. The Portuguese manager was linked with many clubs throughout the last couple of months, such as a return to the Premier League or even managing in the Saudi Pro League. Many were excited about the links of Mourinho going to Saudi Arabia because of the possibility of him coaching Cristiano Ronaldo again. Mourinho at Al Nassr would’ve brought many more eyes to the team, where fans are already excited to see Ronaldo play. Now, since that dream is over, some believe that they may never see Mourinho coach Ronaldo again, but there is a special perk in Mourinho’s Fenerbache contract that could lead to him coaching Ronaldo again in the future. NTV Sport reports that Jose Mourinho will have a clause in his Fenerbahce contract which states that he will be free to leave if the Portugal national team comes in for him.

The Portuguese national team continues to call up Ronaldo despite him being 39 years old. Age doesn’t matter when it comes to CR7, as he had a fantastic individual season with Al Nassr, scoring 35 goals in 31 matches in the Saudi Pro League. CR7 was the top goalscorer in the league and had a total of 46 goal contributions in 31 Saudi Pro League games.

Portugal will need to have a terrible EURO 2024 under Roberto Martinez for them to consider bringing Mourinho to the national team. Portugal only lost one game under Martinez, and this will be the Spanish manager’s first tournament with the Portuguese national team. Portugal is filled with talent and is among the favorites to win the tournament.

Portugal’s group in EURO 2024

Portugal is in Group F in the EURO 2024, and they will play against the Czech Republic, Georgia, and Turkey. Portugal will face Czechia on June 18th, Turkey on June 22nd, and Georgia on June 26th. Portugal is the heavy favorite to top the group and advance to the knockout stages.
