Cristiano Ronaldo has many partnerships and businesses outside of football that make him the best-paid athlete in the world. His huge salary at Al Nassr keeps him at the top of footballers, and with the partnerships on the side, he looks to keep that spot for the next couple of years. On his social media page, CR7 promoted a new NFT collection with Binance. Ronaldo has been partnered with Binance for the last few years, and the Portuguese star’s first batch of NFTs is expected to be released on May 29th. Ronaldo wrote on his social media page, “Are you ready to relive our journey together? My 4th NFT Collection on Binance, launching soon!” This business with NFTs has been gaining a lot of popularity in recent years, but Ronaldo could lose $1 billion due to previous lawsuits.

Ronaldo started his NFT business in 2022, which was the start of multi-year partnerships. The first collection reportedly showed iconic moments from CR7′s career, and some of the rarest items from the NFT sold for $10,000, according to Coinpedia. Ronaldo announced his partnership with Binance in the summer of 2022.

In December 2023, Ronaldo and Binance’s partnership faced a big issue as they were hit with a $1 billion class-action lawsuit. They were reportedly accused of promoting NFTs, which led to investments going wrong. The CEO, Changpeng Zhao, stepped down after the company settled a $4 billion dispute with US regulators. Ronaldo and Binance did not comment on the lawsuit. Ronaldo and Binance now continue together and await for May 29th for the next collection in the partnership that has some fans who have NFTs excited.
