Formula 1 fans leaving the Monaco Grand Prix were shocked to see race winner Charles Leclerc on his pushbike, just hours after his historic victory on the streets of Monte Carlo.

Social media videos showed the Ferrari driver powering up a hill on his bike, seemingly heading home to prepare for a big night of celebrating.

He rocked his team polo and cap, along with jeans and sneakers, as he held his phone up to one ear, presumably fielding throngs of congratulatory messages.

‘He rode right past me at the exit for the K grandstands as I walked to the train. Baffling. Nobody bothered him. So so cool,’ one fan commented on the clip.

The 26-year-old is only the second Monegasque driver to finish on the top step of the podium at their home race. The other was Louis Chiron almost a century ago in 1931.
