Deontay Wilder asserts that throughout Mike Tyson’s career in the boxing ring, he has never defeated a fighter who has been inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Wilder’s notable criticism of Tyson’s Hall of Fame record has resurfaced recently, fueling the ongoing rivalry between them regarding their legacies.

In his remarks, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ mentioned that Tyson only faced two opponents who could be considered all-time greats, but both Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis emerged victorious against him.

A few years back, when a video initially circulated featuring Wilder criticizing Tyson, the undefeated American was at the peak of his career. However, in the present day, Wilder has faced setbacks despite an impressive first-round victory in October.

Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury now hold the top two positions in the heavyweight division, while Wilder strives to reclaim his title.

Fans on social media have been expressing their desire for a showdown between Wilder and Tyson, suggesting a three or four-round exhibition match, especially since Tyson made a comeback in his fifties.

Considering Wilder’s successful comeback victory against Robert Helenius, it becomes impractical to support the argument.

Regardless of the issues they may have as former champions, Wilder’s remarks indicate a deep-seated disagreement.

“Folks, many of you may not be well-versed in boxing history. It’s time to face the reality. Your knowledge of boxing history is limited,” expressed Wilder in a video that WBN saved.

“Your understanding of facts is incomplete. All you rely on is hearsay. I urge you to delve into the facts and explore the history.

“We certainly admire and appreciate fighters like Mike Tyson. We hold them all in high regard. Understand what I’m trying to convey? We genuinely appreciate them all. They have made significant contributions. But it’s crucial to dig into the facts.

“Let me pose a question: How many Hall of Fame fighters did Mike Tyson actually face?”

During the Q&A session, some suggested six, while others mentioned three. Wilder challenged them to provide specific names.

Subsequently, Wilder concurred with one response, dismissing Michael Spinks’ credentials and asserting that Larry Holmes was past his prime when Tyson defeated him.

“Thank you. Only two. Holyfield defeated him twice, and Lennox defeated him. Only two. So what are you all discussing?

“Now, I implore you to revisit your understanding of history! Everyone else was hesitant. They weren’t Hall of Famers!

“Just two. Only two! When you approach me, ensure your facts are accurate.”

In a subsequent interview, Mike Tyson responded to Deontay Wilder’s statement by expressing that he believes he could have emerged victorious if they had fought during their prime years.

‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ shared his thoughts with BT Sport, stating, “I cannot say for certain how the fight would have unfolded.”

“I appreciate the fact that he believes he could have defeated me. Because that’s exactly how I would have thought too.”

“It’s only natural for him to have such confidence. After all, he was the heavyweight champion of the world. That is an extraordinary achievement.”

Wilder is currently preparing to face Andy Ruiz Jr. as he aims to secure a mandatory opportunity at the heavyweight title. Meanwhile, Tyson continues to receive numerous lucrative offers for additional exhibition matches.

Even in his 50s, ‘The Baddest Man’ remains a significant attraction in the boxing ring, continuing to generate substantial interest and business.
