The help is greatly needed.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has made a considerable donation to help Americans impacted by Hurricanes Milton and Helene.

Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot announced that the megastar donated $5 million for hurricane relief efforts in a statement posted to the non-profit’s Instagram page on Wednesday.

“This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water, and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms,” the statement reads. “Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead.”

“Thank you, Taylor, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and helping communities in need,” it concludes.

Swift joins a growing number of celebrities (like Dolly Parton) who have dipped into their own pockets to contribute to relief efforts supporting the victims of the back-to-back hurricanes.

Hurricane Milton made landfall Wednesday evening in Siesta Key, Florida, as a category 3 storm, just south of where Hurricane Helene laid siege to the state’s Big Bend region just two weeks ago.

Helene carved a wide path throughout the Southeast, and did untold damage in western North Carolina, where communities will likely be rebuilding for years to come. The true extent of Milton in Florida remains to be determined, but it is likely considerable help will be needed there too.

Thank you, Taylor!
