Taylor Swift is living life to the fullest with boyfriend, Travis Kelce these days. Something she was reportedly unable to do with Joe Alwyn.

Taylor Swift might be in a relationship that’s full-on in the public eye, but this time she is not shying away from the media.

Perhaps this is because Swift felt more trapped with her ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn than she does with Travis Kelce. And while Swift is not giving up details about her relationship with Kelce, she is also not trying to hide away like she did the previous six years with Alwyn, choosing to live her best life instead.

The media attention was something that Alwyn was never comfortable with, though he is doing better these days post-Swift breakup. As such, instead of going out, he and Swift would stick close to home when Swift was not touring. But, with Kelce constantly being in the public eye given his level of fame as one of the best tight ends in NFL history, fan adoration and the paparazzi do not phase him. A fact that Swift is grateful for.

“[Kelce’s] used to fans going crazy in football, so it’s not such a shock,” a source explained. “Taylor knows it’s a lot for anyone to handle, but Travis learned to manage it over the years with NFL fans and not let it affect him. Not only is he not letting it affect him, but Kelce is also making sure that he is protective of Swift when they do go out, something that was never heard about Alwyn doing when he and Swift were a couple.

“‘I feel like when I’m on a date I feel the sense of: ‘I’m a man in this situation; I’m protective,’ Kelce explained to his brother, Jason Kelce on their podcast, New Heights. “Yeah, for sure. You always kind of have that feeling or that self-awareness I guess.”

This does not mean that Alwyn was not protective. However, with the level of privacy that surrounded his and Swift’s relationship, there was really no information about how the two felt about being seen in public together and this was exactly how Alwyn liked it.

Why Joe Alwyn Wanted Such A Private Relationship With Taylor Swift

There was always the speculation that Alwyn did not want to go out in public with Swift because he did not like the paparazzi stalking them at every locale they would visit. But there was another reason why Alwyn claimed to want to keep away from the spotlight. That reason was because pieces of the relationship would be “taken” away the more access the media was given to their lives.

“It’s not really [because I] want to be guarded and private, it’s more a response to something else,” Alwyn explained.

“We live in a culture that is so increasingly intrusive … the more you give — and frankly, even if you don’t give it — something will be taken.”

At the time of the interview, the two were reportedly very happy. But, it was clear from the timeline of events that would play out just about one year later, that Swift was not as happy as sources reported. Not being able to go out and enjoy life clearly was a factor in the once-happy couple breaking up. Something that does not have to be worried about with Kelce, who has no problem being in the public eye with Swift to enjoy life to the fullest.

While Swift does not talk to the media about her relationship with Kelce, she has not stopped him from doing so. In doing so, Kelce has made it clear that he is happy to tackle the paparazzi to spend time with Swift to have as normal a relationship as possible. Something that allows Swift to “enjoy life.”

“Obviously I’ve never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them …. I’ve never dealt with it,” Kelce explained. “But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it …. The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life.”
