Ed Kelce, the father of the beloved NFL brothers Travis and Jason Kelce, says he has been banned for life on X – but doesn’t know why.
He made the revelation on Facebook, where he shared a news story that claims Houthi arms dealers are using X to sell weapons.
Kelce wrote: ‘Arms dealers are free to peddle their wares on X but I’m banned for life and they won’t say why, just a generic ‘Terms of Service’ violation.’
Ed, alongside the rest of the Kelce family, have had a meteoric rise in fame after Kansas City Chiefs star began dating Taylor Swift last September.
The Kelce brothers joked on their New Heights podcast about feeling nervous at their dad talking to Swift at a Chiefs game last October against Denver Broncos.

Kelce says he has no idea why he has been banned other than a ‘Terms of Service’ violation
Kelce made the surprising revelation on Facebook, where he frequently posts
‘Papa Kelce in the spotlight. If you were watching the game, you saw something momentous happen,’ Jason said.
‘Momentous,’ Travis added, before Jason continued: ‘He shouldn’t be talking to Taylor Swift.
‘If you see Dad talking to someone and you can’t hear what’s happening, who knows where that conversation is going.’
Travis continued: ‘You know Dad like I know Dad. This is a terrifying conversation. I felt terrible for Taylor for being in this.’
Despite mocking their father over the incident, Travis insisted in the same part of the show that he and Jason ‘have the best f***ing dad in the world.’
And it seems that Taylor and Ed get on well. They were pictured celebrating together when the Chiefs beat the Ravens last season to make the Super Bowl and Ed has previously paid tribute to what Swift is like behind the scenes.
‘Every game there’s people crowding outside the front of that suite trying to get a glimpse of Taylor, wanting to meet Taylor,’ Ed said on the TODAY show in January.
‘Taylor’s very gracious, but she can’t do everything. And she’s got security guys who don’t want her doing anything.
Ed Kelce has previously been extremely complimentary of his son’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift
‘That’s their job and she’s smart enough to know, “I’m paying these guys to keep me safe. I should probably listen to them.” But if it was up to her she’d be out there with everyone who wants her.’
Ed and Swift will probably be spending more time together soon. The NFL season restarts on September 5 when the Chiefs play the Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
Travis and Taylor have been getting in some downtime before the season starts up again – they are at her Rhode Island mansion with Patrick and Brittany Mahomes after the singer’s European tour came to an end last week.
Ed Kelce has revealed he was banned for life from X over a post which violated the site’s rules – despite claiming that his account was hacked.
Kelce, the father of famous NFL brothers Travis and Jason, shocked fans when he announced on Facebook this weekend that he is suspended from the online platform formerly known as Twitter.
He shared a news story that claims Houthi arms dealers are using X to sell weapons and wrote: ‘Arms dealers are free to peddle their wares on X but I’m banned for life and they won’t say why, just a generic “Terms of Service” violation.’
Following on from that revelation, Ed has now opened up on the reason behind his X ban in a new post on Facebook, in which he takes a swipe at the ‘social media turds’ behind it.
‘Let me try and clear something up here. I’m rarely on Facebook or Instagram. I get Google alerts in my email about articles mentioning the boys and remotely post them to Facebook for friends and family to see,’ he said.

‘I posted the thing about arms dealers active on X because frankly, I was pissed at Elon’s trolls. I rarely wrote anything on X; I just followed sports reporters. It’s handy during games to hear what those guys have to say, particularly at stadiums where you don’ have commentators the way you do watching on TV.
‘I was active on X/Twitter from September to February, reading others’ posts. Apparently the X Twits believe I posted something contrary to their rules in May or June 2023. Never happened. I’m guessing I was hacked, as the platform isn’t all that secure.
‘My comments when I started this conversation were merely to highlight the hypocrisy of these social media turds.’
